Cancer Prevention and Awareness Grants Program

An initiative of the Provincial Cancer Control Policy Framework, the Cancer Prevention and Awareness Grants Program was announced in November 2011. The aim of the program is to increase the number of cancer prevention and awareness initiatives being implemented in the province, that focus on one or more of the following cancer prevention priorities:

• Tobacco Control
• Ultraviolet Radiation
• Nutrition
• Infectious Diseases
• Physical Activity
• Environmental and Occupational Exposure

The Provincial Cancer Prevention and Awareness Grants Program supports community-based agencies, not-for-profit organizations, and health care professionals to address the cancer prevention priorities. Projects funded complement the Provincial Cancer Control Policy Framework and are based on best practices.
