The Office for Aging and Seniors has a mandate to work with other government departments to affect healthy aging across the lifespan. Established in 2004, The Office acts as a centre for expertise and knowledge on aging and seniors. One of the main functions of the Office for Aging and Seniors is to oversee the implementation of the Provincial Healthy Aging Policy Framework and to monitor the implementation process. This is done with direction from the Ministerial Council on Aging and Seniors and with the support of many partners including; the Provincial Advisory Council on Aging and Seniors; the Interdepartmental Working Group on Healthy Aging; seniors’ organizations; the federal government; other provinces and territories; and key stakeholders.
