Information Management

The Information Management Division provides internal support to the department including:

• offering information management consulting, advisory services to the department’s management team and other stakeholders within government and regional health authorities;
• managing the department’s paper and electronic records and information repositories;
• monitoring and providing advice to department on e-Health related projects;
• providing library and research services to department staff;
• providing support and advice regarding the privacy of personal health information to public and private sector custodians, as well as to the general public;
• coordinating access-to-information requests including requests from the Child Youth Advocate, Office of Information and Privacy Commissioner, and Office of the Citizen Representative; and,
• liaising with the Office of the Chief Information Officer, and the regional health authorities in the use of information technology services and assets.
