The Office of the Chief Nurse is accountable for providing leadership, strategic advice, and nursing expertise to the Department and Regional Health Authorities on a wide range of complex provincial health policy and programs relevant to and/or affecting nursing. The Chief Nurse works in collaboration with the Health Workforce Planning Division and other staff in the Department on a wide array of issues and initiatives affecting nursing resources and practice. An important component of the work of the Chief Nurse is building strong partnerships with key stakeholders including professional regulatory bodies, nursing organizations, unions, Regional Health Authorities, government departments, and educational institutions.
