The Division is responsible for the following services which are provided in support of the Department's mandate and business plan:

To manage the internal and external financial affairs of the Department
To provide financial management consulting and advisory services to the Department's management team
To prepare the Department's annual budget estimates and monthly monitoring reports for submission to Treasury Board
To determine the annual budget allocations for the Health Boards and related agencies, in consultation with Board Services staff
To manage the Department's budget monitoring program for health and community services organizations
To provide financial information services to the department's management team and other stakeholders within government
To carry out audits of health and community services organizations to ensure compliance with the Financial Administration Act, Treasury Board guidelines etc...
To manage and administer the Inter-Provincial Reciprocal Billing Agreement and the Eligibility and Portability Agreement related to Newfoundland & Labrador residents accessing health services in other Provinces and other Canadian residents accessing health services in Newfoundland & Labrador
To manage claims for individuals eligible for medical travel assistance through the Medical Transportation Program /  Form
To identify medical and hospital expenses incurred by residents due to negligence of a third party 
To coordinate the office management and administrative support services related to the Department's day-today operations
To manage claiming services relating to salaried physicians, road ambulance and the Provincial Prescription Drug Program
 

The Distribution Centre in Pleasantville, St. John's, produces and distributes promotional and educational material for public distribution and maintains the provincial supply of vaccines
