and support of over 40 custom-developed systems for both the Department
as well as the Health and Community Services sector Province-wide. Major
systems include the: |

Client and Referral
Management System (CRMS). This system is used by over 200 workers
in regional Health and Community Services Boards to support client
service delivery. |

Medical Claims
Processing system: this system helps process payments to
physicians, primarily to those paid on a fee-for-service basis. |

Funding and
Monitoring system: this system helps manage funding for regional
boards. |

Coordination/facilitation
of Information Technology throughout the Healthcare system. For example,
where appropriate, the Department will work with regional boards to
manage the implementation of a new system or technology. |

Ensuring
Departmental information and records are properly managed and
coordinated, and applicable standards are used. |

Providing research and
library services to Departmental and Regional Boards staff
through the Resource Centre. |
