Grants & Bursaries

The Department of Health and Community Services provides grants to improve the overall health and wellness of the population. The focus is on health promotion, strengthening community action and addressing wellness priorities to help groups make a difference in the lives of people in their communities.

• Health and Wellness Grants Programs which include:
• Provincial Wellness Grants Program
• Healthy Aging Seniors Wellness Grants
• Provincial Cancer Prevention and Awareness Grants Program
• Age-Friendly Newfoundland and Labrador Grants Program
• Community Addictions Prevention and Mental Health Promotion Fund
• Newfoundland and Labrador Healthy Aging Research Program
• Age-Friendly Newfoundland and Labrador Transportation Project

A variety of bursaries and incentives are available to new and experienced health professionals to help meet the workforce needs of the Regional Health Authorities. Bursaries and/or incentives are available for Dental, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Medical, and other disciplines.

Funding opportunities are available through several Government Departments and Offices including Advanced Education and Skills,  Innovation Business and Rural Development, Labrador Affairs Office, Intergovernmental and Aboriginal Affairs, Municipal Affairs, Tourism Culture and Recreation and the Women's Policy Office.
