The Newfoundland and Labrador Low Income Seniors Benefit is a non-taxable annual payment for individuals who are 65 or older by December 31 of the previous taxation year. No application is required. However, individuals must ensure that their annual income tax return is filed.

This program provides assistance to low income homeowners to help offset the cost of replacement of fuel oil tanks. Households who use home heating fuel as their primary source of heat may be eligible for the grant upon replacement of a domestic fuel tank. If you had a tank replaced prior to March 31, 2011 you are eligible to apply for the rebate. This program ended March 31, 2011.

The HST credit is a refundable tax credit for low income residents of this province. The credit is paid in October of each year and is included with the federal GST credit. The amount of the credit is based on net family income from the previous year.
